Overview
We are seeking an experienced (min of 3 years bartending) and enthusiastic Bartender /Server to join our family oriented team in a fast-paced dining environment. The ideal candidate will be skilled, confident, seasoned and have a passion for providing exceptional customer service and a keen interest in the food industry. As a Bartender and server, you will play a vital role in ensuring our guests have an enjoyable dining experience by delivering high-quality, friendly service and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests promptly, ensuring they feel welcomed and comfortable.
- Present menus, take orders, and provide recommendations based on guest preferences.
- Utilize Toast POS or Micros POS systems for order entry and payment processing.
- Upsell food and beverage items to enhance the guest experience and increase sales.
- Ensure timely delivery of food and beverages to tables while maintaining proper food handling and sanitation standards.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure accurate order preparation and presentation.
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and basic math calculations for payments. Close bar at night.
- Maintain cleanliness of the dining area, including bussing tables and assisting with overall restaurant sanitation.
- Address guest inquiries or concerns promptly to ensure satisfaction and foster positive guest relations.
Skills
- Previous restaurant experience in a bartender and server role is a MUST, fast paced or a Mexican restaurant is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage with guests effectively. Must be a team player and flexible in nature. We are a small group and everyone supports each other.
- Time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy shifts.
- Culinary experience or knowledge of food preparation is advantageous.
- Familiarity with OpenTable for reservations is a plus.
- Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and order processing.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation practices within the food service industry.
