Maintenance Technician
Join Wyman-Gordon in Princeton, KY, a growing and highly profitable division of Precision Castparts Corporation (PCC)—a multi-billion-dollar global manufacturer. We produce critical nickel-based extruded powder alloys for top-tier military and commercial aerospace turbine applications. This is a stable, high-impact role within a premier, union-represented manufacturing facility.
Position Overview
- Starting Wage: $22.00 per hour
- Shift Schedule: Rotating nights (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM) on a "2-2, 3-3" cycle (e.g., 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 3 days off)
- Work Environment: Organized Union Shop
- Location: Princeton, KY
Legal Requirements
- US Citizenship or Permanent Residency is strictly required due to federal government military contracts.
Core Responsibilities
- Equipment Maintenance: Tear down, repair, rebuild, modify, and install complex production and facility machinery.
- Precision Machining: Set up and operate lathes, milling machines, and metal-shaping tools to fabricate metal and ceramic components to tight tolerances.
- Specialized Welding: Operate welding equipment to fabricate, repair, and seal specialized powder process cans and containers.
- Advanced Troubleshooting: Read hydraulic blueprints and electrical diagrams to diagnose issues with vacuum systems and production furnaces.
- Emergency Response: Provide rapid, high-quality unscheduled repairs during live production runs.
- Continuous Improvement: Recommend preventive maintenance updates, equipment modifications, and tool purchases.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Industrial Maintenance experience in a heavy manufacturing environment required.
- Proven capability working simultaneously with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical/electronic systems.
Key Skills & Physical Demands
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of vacuum systems and industrial furnace diagnostics.
- Blueprints: Absolute proficiency reading and interpreting hydraulic and mechanical schematics.
- Physical Ability: Capability to handle heavy physical work, manage heavy forgings, and stand for long periods.
- Equipment Operation: Experience utilizing electric overhead cranes and hoists for material handling.
