Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Designer – Revit to join our Structural Engineering team in Beaufort, SC. This role is responsible for developing accurate Building Information Models (BIM), preparing construction documents, and collaborating with structural engineers, architects, and project managers on a variety of commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential projects. The ideal candidate is proficient in Autodesk Revit, understands structural systems, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed 3D structural models using Autodesk Revit.
- Produce high-quality construction drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, details, and schedules.
- Collaborate closely with structural engineers to incorporate design calculations and engineering markups into construction documents.
- Coordinate structural models with architectural, civil, and MEP disciplines to identify and resolve conflicts.
- Revise drawings and models throughout all phases of design and construction.
- Ensure drawings comply with company BIM/CAD standards, applicable building codes, and project specifications.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of Revit families, templates, and libraries.
- Participate in project coordination meetings and support engineers during the design process.
- Maintain organized project documentation while meeting deadlines across multiple projects.
- Perform quality control reviews to ensure accuracy and completeness of deliverables.
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience using Autodesk Revit in a structural engineering or consulting environment.
- Strong proficiency with Autodesk Revit; experience with AutoCAD is preferred.
- Knowledge of structural systems including steel, concrete, masonry, and wood framing.
- Familiarity with BIM workflows and multidisciplinary project coordination.
- Understanding of construction documents and structural detailing.
- Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Navisworks or other BIM coordination software.
- Experience creating and managing Revit families.
- Familiarity with structural analysis software or engineering workflows.
- Experience working on commercial, industrial, municipal, or institutional projects.
