Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced contractor to complete a residential roof leak repair and interior restoration project. The scope includes locating and repairing active roof leaks, replacing damaged roofing materials and decking as needed, repairing water damaged drywall ceilings, matching existing popcorn texture, and repainting affected ceiling areas. The ideal contractor will have experience with asphalt shingle roofing, drywall repair, texture matching, and interior painting. Attention to detail, cleanliness, and professionalism are essential, as the project requires protecting the homeowner's belongings and maintaining a safe, organized work environment throughout the job.
Responsibilities
- Inspect the roof and identify the source of active leaks.
- Remove and replace damaged shingles, underlayment, flashing, and roof decking as needed.
- Ensure all roof repairs are properly sealed and watertight.
- Protect the homeowner's property, furniture, flooring, and personal belongings before beginning work.
- Remove and replace water-damaged drywall and ceiling materials.
- Tape, mud, sand, and finish drywall repairs to a smooth professional standard.
- Match existing popcorn ceiling texture in repaired areas.
- Prime and paint repaired ceilings to blend with existing finishes.
- Maintain a clean and organized job site throughout the project.
- Follow all safety procedures and keep walkways free of hazards.
- Take before, during, and after photos of completed work.
- Communicate project progress and any unforeseen issues promptly.
- Complete all work according to project specifications and quality standards.
- Perform final cleanup and debris removal upon project completion.
- Provide workmanship consistent with a professional residential contractor.
Skills
- Extensive experience with construction estimating to accurately assess project scope and costs
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, and heavy machinery used in roofing and drywall work
- Strong knowledge of roofing systems, drywall installation techniques, and general construction practices
- Hands-on handyman experience with a focus on remodeling, framing, welding, tile laying, and surface finishing
- Capable of heavy lifting and working safely in various weather conditions on active construction sites
Pay: $28.52 - $34.35 per hour
