Serrato’s Steakhouse is seeking a skilled and motivated Executive Sous Chef to join the culinary leadership team for our new steakhouse location opening in July 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the pre-opening process and help build a high-performance kitchen team dedicated to excellence, consistency, and elevated dining.
The Executive Sous Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef and General Manager to oversee daily kitchen operations, uphold culinary standards, and ensure an exceptional guest experience.
Position Overview
The Executive Sous Chef is responsible for assisting in the management of all back-of-house operations, including food preparation, quality control, team leadership, and kitchen organization.
This role requires strong culinary skill, leadership presence, and the ability to execute at a high level in a fast-paced, upscale steakhouse environment.

Duties
- Lead and supervise culinary teams, including kitchen staff, servers, bartenders, and catering personnel to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Oversee menu planning, food preparation, and presentation to maintain high standards of quality and creativity in fine dining and banquet settings.
- Manage inventory control and food handling procedures to minimize waste and optimize resource utilization.
- Coordinate special event services from planning through execution, ensuring client satisfaction at every touchpoint.
- Implement food safety protocols in compliance with health regulations and industry best practices.
- Supervise shift management, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations to foster a motivated team environment.
- Oversee kitchen management tasks such as food production, inventory management, and ensuring adherence to dietary requirements.
- Collaborate with the dietary department to accommodate special dietary needs while maintaining menu integrity.
- Maintain detailed records of food costs, inventory levels, and operational reports to support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in banquet service, restaurant management, or hospitality leadership with a strong focus on food service operations.
- Extensive culinary experience with expertise in food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen management.
- Demonstrated supervising experience within the food industry or hospitality sector.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and certifications required by local health authorities.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and inventory control practices.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage shift operations effectively.
- Experience in fine dining environments or catering services is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills paired with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
