Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Middle School Volleyball Coach for the upcoming season at Viper Elementary. This seasonal position involves mentoring and developing young athletes in the fundamentals of volleyball while fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and a love for the game. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of volleyball techniques and strategies, as well as the ability to inspire and motivate middle school students.
Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct daily practice sessions that focus on skill development, teamwork, and game strategies.
- Develop and implement a competitive game schedule, coordinating with other schools and officials.
- Teach the rules and fundamentals of volleyball to players of varying skill levels.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team environment that encourages participation and personal growth.
- Monitor and evaluate individual and team performance, providing constructive feedback to players.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding team activities, schedules, and player progress.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all players during practices and games.
- Assist in the organization of team events, including fundraisers and community outreach initiatives.
- Collaborate with school administration and athletic staff to promote the volleyball program.
- Uphold and model the values of sportsmanship and respect for all participants.
Requirements
- Previous coaching experience in volleyball, preferably at the middle school level or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of volleyball techniques, rules, and strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students, parents, and staff.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends for practices and games.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain prior to the start of the season).
- A commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.
- Background check clearance as required by school policies.
