Service Manager (Heavy Equipment)

We are partnering with a leading heavy equipment supplier serving the Mid-Atlantic region. The company specializes in the rental, sales, maintenance, and repair of construction equipment including excavators, track loaders, bulldozers, compactors, demolition equipment, crushing equipment, lifting machinery, hauling equipment, and more.
Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years working and managing a shop for heavy equipment repairs.
Position Overview
The Service Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the service department.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Direct and oversee all service department activities, including shop and field service operations.
- Effectively resolve employee and customer concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Execute departmental strategies and action plans to achieve operational and financial objectives.
- Utilize strong business judgment to support profitability, operational efficiency, and safety initiatives.
- Schedule, prioritize, and manage work orders to maximize technician productivity and meet customer expectations.
- Maintain proactive communication with existing customers through service follow-up activities.
- Monitor work-in-progress to ensure timely completion, quality standards, and accurate billing.
- Manage OEM warranty and policy claim submissions.
Customer Relations
- Serve as the primary point of contact for key service customers.
- Provide customers with accurate estimates, timelines, and project updates.
- Address and resolve customer concerns promptly while maintaining strong relationships.
Financial & Administrative Management
- Monitor department performance metrics, including labor efficiency, gross profit, work-in-progress, and recovery rates.
- Review and approve work orders, invoices, and purchase orders.
- Ensure accurate documentation of labor, parts, technician notes, and service activities.
- Open, manage, and cost work orders in accordance with company procedures.
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce company safety policies and ensure compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Pay: $95,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year

Experience:
- running a service shop: 5 years (Required)
- working on construction equipment : 3 years (Required)
