East Union Community School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Assistant High School Girls Basketball Coach.
Applicants should possess a strong desire to help build a cohesive, competitive program and positive team culture. The assistant coach will work closely with the Head Coach in all aspects of developing the East Union Girls Basketball program.
Responsibilities Include:

Assist in planning and implementing effective practices and game strategies

Support in-season player development and skill progression
-
Help design and promote off-season workout and development programs

Contribute to a structured approach to practice planning, skill development, and team accountability

Assist with strength and conditioning/weight room programming
-
Promote and model sportsmanship, teamwork, and accountability

Build connections between players and the community through volunteer opportunities
-
Support and engage with youth development programs, including REC leagues

Collaborate with the Athletic Director to ensure compliance with all school and state regulations
Qualifications:

Coaching endorsement or authorization from the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners required

Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, skill development, and team concepts

Ability to positively motivate and mentor student-athletes

Strong organizational and communication skills
