The Blending Operator is responsible for the actual blending, roller compaction, and milling-screening of the batch under the direction of the Blending Supervisor.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Check raw materials for pre-weigh to ensure they match the master formula
- Follows Blending Procedure and/or Compacting & Milling Procedure for the issued master formula
- Fills in all product documentation with initials and dates as expected
- Label and weigh all drums for the next stage of production
- Follows all cleaning procedures/protocols to eliminate any chance of cross-contamination
- Follow all GMPs
- Adhere to all safety rules and regulations
- Operates under the supervision of the Blending Supervisor
- Should be able to wear a filtering facepiece (dusk mask, surgical mask, respirator) throughout the day
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Quality training or equivalent continuous improvement experience
- Physical Requirements – ability to bend, twist, reach, climb ladders, lift materials up to 50 lbs., and move drums up to 500 lbs. using a pallet jack
- Must have good vision, aided by glasses if necessary
- Experience in a pharmaceutical environment preferred
- Assist with IQ/PQ efforts
- Qualified to wear a respirator
- Prior compounding and/or pre-weigh (material handler) experience is recommended
- Bilingual is a plus
