Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping and Receiving Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive warehouse experience, and a solid understanding of inventory control systems. This role is vital in ensuring efficient warehouse operations, maintaining accurate inventory levels, and supporting process improvements to optimize overall logistics performance.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily receiving operations, including unloading shipments using material handling equipment such as forklifts and handtrucks.
- Collaborate with internal Companies to ensure timely processing of outbound goods and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to inbound shipments.
- Prepares and maintains records of materials received and shipped including dates of transactions, locations, and other pertinent information.
- Reviews shipments for quality and accuracy; reviews accompanying documents for accuracy.
- Confirms shipping details or special instructions; expedites shipments that affect the manufacturing process schedule.
- Validates, approves, and forwards invoices to accounting department.
- Collects and properly disposes of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping; maintains a safe and clean work environment.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Experience:
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution, logistics, or supply chain management with a focus on shipping & receiving operations
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good math and written communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Efficient time management skills.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or other formal training in related field preferred and a plus.
- A minimum of two years of related experience is required.
- Bi-Lingual a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at a time.
- Must wear safety gear, such as goggles and gloves, when handling box cutters or similar tools.
- Ability to operate a forklift a plus.
