Maintenance Mechanic/Tech
Performs routine servicing and rebuilding of a variety of production machinery and equipment. Must have strong analytical abilities.
There is opportunity for leadership and supervisory responsibilities and having an active part in the Plant direction and decisions with the Plant Manager and ownership.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
· Perform routine servicing of production machinery and equipment including systems for air handling, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical. Ensures that preventative maintenance programs are followed.
· Performs routine rebuilding of machinery and equipment when more extensive maintenance is required.
· Troubleshoots machinery and equipment malfunctions and replaces defective parts.
· Will perform facilities maintenance.
· Plans and paces own work efficiently in order to meet daily, weekly, project, or team related productivity goals.
· Responds attentively to training from the plant manager and other maintenance technicians in order to increase their own knowledge of maintenance and repair processes.
· Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or co-workers. Attends or holds periodic safety meetings as needed.
· Other duties may be assigned or needed as situation or company need dictates.
Competencies
· Knowledge of and ability to use hand and power tools.
· Manual Dexterity.
· Experience in trouble-shooting machinery malfunctions.
· Ability to communicate with part suppliers and manufacturers or third-party consultants.
· Possess basic computer skills.
· Knowledge of safety procedures while performing maintenance tasks.
· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions without needing oversight.
· Ability to read and understand machine equipment diagrams and system schematics.
· Ability to communicate directions clearly and effectively to the production team and management.
Minimum Requirements
· High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and 2 plus years of related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Experience within a small to mid-sized privately owned manufacturer as a Maintenance Manager is preferred.

· Work is performed within a production environment, subject to temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, mechanical parts, increased noise levels and dust.
· Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and on occasion lift up to 80 lbs.
· May be required to perform specific tasks that involve climbing, lifting, pushing, or kneeling.
Opportunities to grow into leadership responsibilities
· Attend weekly status meetings with ownership.
· Assist Plant Manager in organizing and managing day-to-day activities for plant operations.
· Coordinate with Plant Manager in resolving plant issues in a timely manner.
· Provide training and guidance to workers to meet performance standards.
· Maintain proper documentation for all plant related activities.
· Implement continuous plant improvements for increased productivity and waste reduction (including maintenance cost).
· Assist in supervising overall plant policies and procedures to ensure effective operations.
· Assist in supervising plant operations to meet production requirements in timely and cost-effective manner.
Pay: $54,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
