Job Title: Quality Engineer
Job Location: Indianapolis, IN 46219
Job Type: Contract
Job Duties:
- Support supplier selection and qualification by conducting capability assessments, on-site audits, RFQ/QC reviews, and supplier scorecards.
- Define and communicate supplier quality requirements, including control plans, inspection criteria, test protocols, and quality agreements.
- Plan and manage supplier validation activities, including pilot builds, capability studies, MSA, and functional/performance testing.
- Coordinate and review PPAP submissions, resolve nonconformances, and manage the PPAP approval process.
- Investigate supplier quality issues using root cause analysis (8D/Corrective Action), drive corrective and preventive actions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support production readiness and product launches.
Job Requirements:
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in Quality Engineering within automotive, aerospace, industrial goods, manufacturing, or supply chain environments.
- Strong practical experience with PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) and APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning).
- Practical knowledge of supplier management, including supplier qualification, capability assessments, and quality processes.
- Experience with FMEA, MSA, capability studies, control plans, and quality validation/testing activities.
- Bachelor's degree is preferred but flexible; equivalent industry experience will be considered.
Schedule:
Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
