Judith is a restaurant in Sewanee, TN. We have a commitment to quality and service, and a food program that aligns with that vision. We are seeking someone with experience and/or willingness to learn and grow in this position. We hope to create a close-knit team that embraces sustainability, local food production, and the art of hospitality.
We will be open for dinner, from Thursday through Monday.
Dual position for dishwasher/prep cook is preferred; however, we are open to dishwasher or prep cook positions.
Job Requirements Include:
- Experience as a prep cook and receiver
- Able to work mornings and weekends (open availability is a plus!)
- Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
- Great communicator, extremely organized, works clean, enforces standards
- Able to efficiently operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils
- Maintain kitchen equipment to ensure safety and cleanliness
Job Responsibilities Include:
- Follow the prep list created by chefs to plan tasks accordingly
- Receive orders and store ingredients properly
- Work with chefs to manage inventory and minimize food waste
- Clean and prep vegetables for use, fabricate meat and fish, clean and store shellfish as needed
- Work with chefs to manage production of stocks, sauces, and other special projects
- Complete any additional prep items as needed
- Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by maintaining workspace, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash, etc. when dishwashers are off duty
- Help to set the PM staff up for success in service
Judith opened in Fall of 2024.
