Now Hiring: Full-Time Hifz & Islamic Studies Teacher
The Islamic Center of Virginia is seeking a dedicated, qualified, and spiritually grounded Full-Time Hifz & Islamic Studies Teacher to help develop and lead Qur’an memorization and Islamic education programming for students.
This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about teaching Qur’an, building strong Islamic character, and helping students grow in knowledge, discipline, adab, and love for the deen.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Qur’an memorization with proper tajweed and consistent review.
- Develop individualized memorization and revision plans for students.
- Teach Islamic Studies, including aqeedah, fiqh basics, seerah, hadith, adab, and Islamic character.
- Track student progress and communicate regularly with parents.
- Help create a structured, encouraging, and disciplined learning environment.
- Support student spiritual development and Islamic identity.
- Assist with student assessments, parent meetings, and program planning.
- Work professionally with masjid leadership, administration, parents, and volunteers.
Qualifications
- Hafiz of the Qur’an strongly preferred.
- Strong tajweed and Qur’an recitation skills required.
- Formal Islamic studies background preferred.
- Experience teaching children, youth, or Hifz students.
- Ability to communicate clearly in English.
- Strong Islamic character, patience, professionalism, and reliability.
- Ability to manage a classroom and motivate students.
- Background check may be required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience teaching in a Hifz program, Islamic school, masjid, or Qur’an academy.
- Ijazah or formal Qur’an/tajweed certification.
- Ability to teach both Qur’an and Islamic Studies.
- Experience developing curriculum, student progress plans, and parent reports.
- Ability to help build and grow a new or expanding Hifz program.
