Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our new office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality support to our dental professionals while ensuring a comfortable and efficient experience for our patients. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Assist general dentists during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare and maintain dental instruments and equipment, ensuring adherence to infection control protocols.
- Take and develop X-rays, utilizing knowledge of medical imaging techniques.
- Manage patient records, including medical documentation and medical coding, while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions.
- Perform chairside assisting duties, including taking vital signs and managing patient comfort.
- Familiar with Open Dental management software
- Support pediatric dentistry procedures with sensitivity and care for young patients.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in accordance with aseptic techniques.
- Collaborate with the dental receptionist to ensure smooth patient flow and effective communication within the clinic.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:
- Proficiency in EMR systems, particularly Open Dental.
- Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and infection control practices.
- Knowledge of prosthodontics, endodontics, general dentistry, and chairside assisting techniques.
- Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is a must.
- Understanding of medical terminology, medical records management, and medical documentation processes.
- Experience with Itero scanner is a plus.
