Duties:
- Dispense prescription medications to patients and provide medication counseling
- Review and interpret prescription orders for accuracy and appropriateness
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective medication use
- Monitor patient medication therapy for potential drug interactions or adverse effects
- Provide pharmaceutical care, including medication therapy management and patient education
- Maintain accurate and complete patient medication records
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements related to pharmacy practice
Experience:
- Current and unrestricted pharmacist license in Texas
- Experience in utilization review, acute care, or critical care settings preferred
- Proficient in medication administration techniques and aseptic technique
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology
- Familiarity with utilization management principles and practices
- Completion of a pharmacy residency program is highly desirable
Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient service
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing medications
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Proficient in using pharmacy software systems for prescription processing and inventory management
