Job Overview
Behavior Technicians at Open Mind Behavior provide 1:1, play‑based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to toddlers and children in the home and community. Under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), you will help children build communication, social, and daily living skills through supportive, developmentally appropriate teaching strategies. This role is ideal for individuals who are curious about child behavior, enjoy hands‑on learning, and want to make a meaningful impact in a child’s life. Part‑time, after‑school availability is required.
Duties
- Provide 1:1 ABA therapy to children in home and community settings
- Implement individualized treatment plans created by a BCBA
- Use play‑based teaching strategies to support communication, social, and adaptive skills
- Collect accurate session data and document progress
- Follow behavior intervention plans and safety protocols
- Communicate professionally with supervisors and families
- Attend required training, supervision, and team meetings
- Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality
- Support a neurodiversity‑affirming, child‑centered environment
- Uphold ethical standards and high‑quality care in a medical field
Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Reliable transportation for home‑based sessions
- Consistent after‑school availability
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to follow instructions and accept feedback
- Comfort working with toddlers and children
- Professionalism, reliability, and patience
Preferred (but not required):
- Experience working with children (babysitting, tutoring, childcare, teaching, etc.)
- Interest in ABA, psychology, child development, education, or related fields
- Experience supporting individuals with autism or developmental differences
- RBT certification (we provide training if not certified)
Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
