Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated Entry Level Sales Representative to join our dynamic sales team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop foundational skills in outside sales, business development, and account management. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn and grow within a fast-paced environment, engaging in B2B sales, territory management, and customer relationship building. You will play a key role in expanding our client base through direct sales, lead generation, and product demonstrations, supporting the company's growth objectives. This position is in a technical sales role. Keen interest in learning scientific principles is preferred.
Duties
- Engage in outside and inside sales activities to identify and pursue new business opportunities
- Conduct product demos and presentations to potential clients, showcasing features and benefits
- Manage existing accounts through effective account management strategies and upselling techniques
- Generate leads through cold calling, networking, and marketing initiatives to expand territory coverage
- Develop and execute territory management plans to maximize market penetration
- Utilize CRM software such as Salesforce to track customer interactions, sales pipelines, and follow-ups
- Negotiate terms with clients to close sales deals that meet both customer needs and company goals
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries promptly and professionally
- Collaborate with marketing teams on promotional campaigns and lead generation efforts
- Analyze market trends and customer feedback to identify new opportunities for growth
- Travel required via company vehicle to project sites in Virginia, Maryland and North Carolina
- Some overnight travel to association trade shows (<5%)
Requirements
- Strong interest in sales, business development, and management roles with a focus on B2B sales or technology sales
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to conduct product demos effectively
- Familiarity with software packages such as Salesforce, EXCEL, WORD or similar platforms for managing customer relationships OR willingness to learn
- Capable of cold calling, lead generation, and territory management strategies
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to build lasting client relationships
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Basic understanding of marketing principles and analysis skills for identifying sales opportunities
- Prior experience in retail sales, technical sales, or direct sales is a plus but not required; training will be provided for all necessary skills including upselling and product knowledge
- A proactive attitude with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously
