We are looking for a Construction Safety Professional to provide SSHO services full-time on military projects. You will facilitate compliance with EM3851-1 and occupational health and safety (OHS) guidelines. The ideal candidate will be team-oriented and ready to act in emergencies. Our goal is to establish a safe workplace according to legal standards and foster a culture of attention to health and safety.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the implementation of company safety policies and programs (APP)
- Conduct daily risk assessments and enforce preventative measures
- Review existing policies and measures and update according to legislation
- Inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issue or potential hazards, and implement controls
- Record and investigate incidents to determine causes and handle worker’s compensation claims
- Prepare reports on occurrences and provide information to project management
Skills
- Minimum 4-5 years experience in construction safety
- CHST certification required
- Documented safety related training for each of the past 5 years
- Federal/military construction experience preferred
- In depth knowledge of legislation (e.g. EM3851-1/OSHA/EPA) and procedures
- Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices
- Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety
- Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics
- Proficient in MS Office; Working knowledge of safety management information systems is a plus
- Outstanding organizational skills
- Diligent with great attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain health and safety topics

- $95k-115k/year salary
