We are actively scaling our practice and are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Paralegal/Legal Assistant to support our dynamic legal team during this period of growth. In this vital role, you will assist with a wide range of legal functions across multiple practice areas, including legal research, document management, client relations, and case preparation. Your contributions will help ensure the efficient operation of our office while giving you the opportunity to further develop your legal skills in a fast-paced, impactful environment. All positions are paid, reflecting our commitment to your professional development. Compensation will be based on experience and education.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with legal research using legal research tools to support case development and legal analysis.
- Prepare and review legal documents including contracts, pleadings, discovery materials, and correspondence with precision and attention to detail.
- Manage case files using document management systems; ensure accurate data entry and filing.
- Conduct thorough document review and proofreading to maintain high-quality standards for all legal submissions.
- Support project management tasks related to ongoing cases or legal initiatives by coordinating schedules and tracking deadlines.
- Interview clients and witnesses to gather pertinent information for cases involving family law, personal injury law, or criminal law.
- Provide administrative support including calendar management, phone etiquette, filing, data entry, transcription, and general clerical duties to keep the office running efficiently.
- Assist with the organization of legal research materials and maintain up-to-date knowledge of laws across multiple practice areas.
Experience
- Paralegal or legal assistant experience in a busy law office environment is preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of diverse practice areas.
- Proficiency with legal research platforms.
- Experience with legal case management software.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively while maintaining accuracy in document review and data entry.
- Excellent writing skills for drafting correspondence and legal documents; proofreading and transcription skills are a plus.
- Effective interviewing skills combined with professional phone etiquette to interact confidently and competently with clients and team members.
- Familiarity with legal administrative tasks such as filing systems, document management systems, contract review, and clerical support is necessary to succeed in this role.
