HVAC Technician – Modular Construction
Job Overview We are seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to install, troubleshoot, and inspect heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC/VTAC) systems in off-site modular housing units. This role works alongside skilled trades in a fast-paced manufacturing facility, referencing shop drawings and tracking progress via the Offsight platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, and troubleshoot HVAC/VTAC systems according to blueprints, manufacturer specs, and building codes.
- Estimate equipment, tools, and materials needed for each project.
- Collaborate with assembly teams on general modular construction tasks (framing, siding, and structural repairs as assigned).
- Operate, clean, and maintain trade hand and power tools (saws, drills, levels, framing squares) safely.
- Adhere strictly to safety standards, quality checks, and production schedules.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education & Experience: High School Diploma/GED required; minimum of 3 years of experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair within the building trades required.
- Certifications: HVAC certification preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading blueprints/shop drawings, strong HVAC mechanical/electrical knowledge, basic arithmetic, and competence with power tools and measuring equipment.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift 50 lbs independently; frequent standing, walking, squatting, climbing, and working in/under large structures.
- Work Environment: Factory setting with temperature fluctuations, noise, and moving machinery.
Workplace Dress Code
- Permitted: Knee-length shorts, work pants/jeans, and short- or long-sleeve shirts.
- Prohibited: Tank tops, muscle shirts, shorts shorter than knee-length, sweatpants, and yoga pants.
Compliance with dress code standards is mandatory and subject to disciplinary action.
Required Safety Gear & Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Provided by Company: Bump caps and safety glasses.
- Required Candidate Equipment: Steel-toe boots or shoes (composite toes are not permitted) must be worn at all times on the shop floor and are required on day one for orientation.
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
