Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Life Enrichment Specialist to inspire and engage our residents through meaningful activities, social programs, and recreational therapies. Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and facilitate engaging recreational activities, events, and outings tailored to residents’ interests and abilities
- Develop individualized activity plans that promote cognitive stimulation, physical health, and social interaction
- Assist residents with daily living activities (ADLs) such as mobility, dressing, grooming, and medication reminders as needed
- Collaborate with nursing staff, social workers, and family members to assess residents’ needs and adjust programs accordingly
- Manage schedules for activities and ensure timely execution while maintaining a lively atmosphere
- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents experiencing memory loss or aging-related issues
- Educate staff and family members on best practices in dementia care, Alzheimer’s support strategies, and aging issues counseling
Experience
- Prior experience in assisted living facilities or nursing homes is highly preferred
- Demonstrated background in event planning or recreational therapy within senior care or long-term care settings
- Knowledge of Alzheimer’s disease, dementia care, memory care techniques, and senior care best practices
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in home & community care environments is advantageous
- Strong communication skills with the ability to connect empathetically with residents of all ages and backgrounds
- Proven ability to manage schedules efficiently while balancing multiple activities and priorities
- Familiarity with caregiving responsibilities including assisting with ADLs (activities of daily living) and providing aging issues counseling
