Job Summary
O'Neill Logistics GA LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Inventory Control Operator to join our warehouse and logistics team. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory, performing cycle counts, operating an order picker, and making inventory adjustments within the warehouse management system. The Inventory Control Operator will work closely with warehouse management and customers to research and resolve inventory discrepancies, maintain accurate records, and ensure inventory is properly accounted for.
The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable working in a warehouse environment, has strong attention to detail, and can effectively communicate with both management and customers.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate an order picker safely and efficiently to access, inspect, count, and organize inventory.
- Perform routine and scheduled cycle counts to verify physical inventory against system quantities.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and identify the root cause of variances.
- Make authorized inventory adjustments in the warehouse management system (WMS) to maintain accurate inventory records.
- Research inventory discrepancies by reviewing system transactions, locations, movements, and physical inventory.
- Work closely with warehouse management to identify and resolve inventory issues and implement corrective actions.
- Communicate directly with customers regarding inventory discrepancies, count results, adjustments, and other inventory-related concerns.
- Maintain accurate documentation of cycle counts, inventory adjustments, and discrepancy investigations.
- Ensure inventory is properly located, labeled, stored, and accounted for within the warehouse.
- Assist warehouse operations, including receiving, shipping, put-away, picking, and material handling, as needed.
- Follow all company safety procedures and maintain safe operating practices when using an order picker and other material handling equipment.
- Communicate inventory issues and trends to management in a timely and professional manner.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or distribution preferred.
- Experience performing cycle counts and inventory reconciliations.
- Previous experience operating an order picker or similar powered industrial equipment preferred.
- Ability to learn and effectively use a warehouse management system (WMS) and make system inventory adjustments.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to research inventory discrepancies and determine appropriate corrective actions.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work professionally with warehouse management and customers.
- Basic to intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Ability to safely perform physical warehouse duties, including standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting as required.
- Order picker/forklift certification is preferred or must be obtained in accordance with company requirements.
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
