Managing Director
The Center for Global Health and Development (CGHD) is seeking a Managing Director to lead strategic and operational execution across our blended finance and global health initiatives. This is a senior leadership role for an experienced professional ready to help drive high-impact, high-visibility work at the intersection of global health and development finance.
The role is based remotely, with regular engagement across time zones and international travel to workshops, roundtables, investor meetings, and government convenings.

CGHD scales impactful initiatives through blended finance, innovative health financing, and cross-sector partnerships. Its work spans health manufacturing, energy reliability for health facilities, SME development, supply chains, and disease elimination efforts in the Indo-Pacific and beyond.
CGHD develops strategy, provides technical assistance, mobilizes financing, and coordinates multi-stakeholder engagement across Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, and the United States.

Position Overview
The Managing Director will provide senior leadership across CGHD's portfolio of blended finance vehicles, partnerships, and policy initiatives. This role sits close to executive leadership and carries direct responsibility for strategy execution, team management, investor and government relations, and organizational growth.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned strategist and operator politically astute, execution-oriented, and comfortable representing the organization in high-stakes settings with governments, multilateral institutions, and private capital partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide senior leadership and day-to-day management across CGHD's blended finance initiatives, including structuring, fundraising, and portfolio oversight.
- Serve as a primary representative of the organization with government counterparts, multilateral institutions, DFIs, philanthropic funders, and private-sector partners.
- Lead development and execution of organizational strategy in partnership with the Executive Director and senior leadership.
- Oversee preparation of investment memoranda, due diligence materials, pitch decks, and policy documents for high-level audiences.
- Manage, mentor, and grow a team of analysts, associates, and interns; oversee hiring and performance across functional areas.
- Drive fundraising and capital mobilization efforts, including engagement with sovereign wealth funds, DFIs, and institutional investors.
- Represent CGHD at international workshops, missions, technical working groups, and convenings such as the World Health Assembly.
- Oversee organizational operations, budgeting, and cross-team coordination to ensure delivery against strategic priorities.
- Identify and cultivate new partnership and financing opportunities aligned with CGHD's mission.
Essential Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant experience in global health, development finance, blended finance, or a related field, with demonstrated senior leadership or management experience.
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MPP, MPH, or related) strongly preferred.
- Proven track record structuring or managing complex financing vehicles, partnerships, or programs at scale.
- Excellent judgment operating in sensitive political and diplomatic environments; ability to maintain confidentiality and navigate competing stakeholder interests.
- Strong people-management experience, including hiring, mentoring, and leading teams.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience producing board-level and investor-facing materials.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple high-stakes workstreams simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
Preferred / Additional Assets
- Experience with sovereign wealth funds, development finance institutions, or institutional investors.
- Prior work directly with G7 governments, UN agencies, or multilateral institutions.
- Track record of successful capital raises or grant awards (e.g., Convergence, Gates Foundation, DFC).
- Experience in emerging-market health systems or health manufacturing.
- Established network within the global health finance or impact investing community.
Language Requirements
English required; additional languages (French, Spanish, Portuguese) strongly preferred given the organization's work across Africa, Latin America, and the Indo-Pacific.
Location
Remote. Frequent international travel required for workshops, investor meetings, and government engagements.
