About the Role BCA's TPK program is a developmentally supportive bridge between Preschool and Pre-K, designed for children who benefit from additional time building foundational skills before entering Pre-K. The TPK Teacher creates a warm, play-based classroom environment that supports children's early academic readiness, fine-motor development, and social-emotional growth.
Responsibilities
- Deliver daily instruction using HWT (Handwriting Without Tears), Fundations Pre-K, and Dimensions Math PK curricula
- Build a nurturing, structured classroom environment that supports children aged 3-4
- Support fine-motor, early literacy, and early numeracy development through hands-on, multisensory learning
- Observe and track individual student progress; communicate regularly with families
- Collaborate with the Early Years team and participate in professional learning
- Support children's social-emotional development and transitions between program levels
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field required; Master's preferred
- Experience teaching preschool or Pre-K age children (ages 3-5)
- Familiarity with structured literacy and/or play-based learning frameworks
- Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills
- Experience with or openness to IB PYP or inquiry-based approaches
- Washington State teaching certification preferred; international candidates welcome to apply
