Head Start is a comprehensive preschool program for low-income children ages birth through five year olds. It provides children with a developmentally appropriate early childhood education.
The job of Head Start Program Instructor was established for the purpose/s of providing support to the instructional process by serving as a teacher with specific responsibility for supervising students within the classroom and other assigned areas; developing lesson plans and delivering group and individual student instruction within established curriculum guidelines; collaborating with other teachers, other professional staff, and administrators in addressing instructional and/or classroom issues; and responding to a wide range of inquiries from students’ parents or guardians regarding instructional program and student progress.
Minimum Requirements:

Associates degree in Early Childhood Education.

Bachelor's Degree & PDE Early Childhood Certification preferred.

Experience with pre-school population desired.

Knowledge in Early Literacy.

Ability to work with a culturally diverse population.

Able to work at centers within Delaware County.

Able to work within a team concept.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Able to frequently lift twenty pounds.
-
Basic computer skills.
