SUMMARY: Provide technical assistance to computer users. Answer questions or resolve computer problems for coworkers and guests in person, or via telephone or electronically. May provide assistance concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, installation, word processing, electronic mail, and operating systems. Act as Point of Contact for IT Vendors and assist with vendor relations. Create and maintain IT related paperwork varying from Forms to Policy and Procedures. Configure and maintain IT infrastructure.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility in a safe and satisfactory manner. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Answer user inquiries regarding computer software or hardware operation to resolve problems
· Research to find resolutions to unknown problems.
· Oversee the daily performance of computer systems
· Configure and maintain IT Infrastructure
· Create and maintain IT forms, Policies, Procedures
· Setup and maintain equipment: Computers, Servers, Network Equipment, Printers, etc.
· Develop training materials and procedures, or train users in the proper use of hardware or software
· Act as point of contact for IT vendors and maintain vendor relations
· Refer major hardware or software problems or defective products to vendors or technicians for service
· Ensure major IT projects are completed in a timely manor
· Ensure IT security is maintained over the internal systems in accordance to regulations
· Enter commands and observe system functioning to verify correct operations and detect errors
· Maintain records of daily data communication transactions, problems and remedial actions taken
· Prepare evaluations of software or hardware and recommend improvements or upgrades
· Confer with staff, users, and management to establish requirements for new systems or modifications
· Modify and customize commercial programs for internal needs
· Inspect equipment and read order sheets to prepare for delivery to users
· Conduct office automation feasibility studies, including workflow analysis, space design, or cost comparison analysis
· Conduct research into advancing technologies and their applications for VRC

SALARY/WAGE RANGE:
$55,000-75,000 per year
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
None
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field preferred
· Two or more years of experience in front-line computer help experience required
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
· Read and correctly interpret documents in English such as safety rules, safety data sheets, cold spray recipes, operating and maintenance instructions, work instructions, procedure manuals, newspapers, periodicals, journals, and brochures
· Write routine reports, correspondence, inventory summaries, and reports in English using prescribed format, and conforming to all rules of punctuation, grammar, diction, and style
· Ability to speak effectively in English on the phone and in person with coworkers
· Understanding of IT technical terms
MATH SKILLS
· Proficient: basic math skills with high attention to detail
COMPUTER SKILLS:
· Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Excel at an intermediate level
· Basic hardware maintenance training
· Competent with network management, firewall, and security software
· Proficient in electronic forms of communication including email, web searching, and data organization
· Ability to quickly learn computer applications
· Maintain an understanding of Cybersecurity
REASONING ABILITY:
· Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
· Read and interpret design documents and schematics
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The employee must be able to see differences in color, widths, and lengths of lines such as those on design and schematic drawings.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
