Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented HVAC Lead specializing in new home construction. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and leadership skills to oversee HVAC installation projects from start to finish. This role requires a proactive approach to ensure high-quality work, compliance with safety standards, and efficient project completion. Candidates should have a solid background in construction, HVAC systems, and related trades, with the ability to manage field service activities and coordinate with other trades.
Duties
- Lead and supervise HVAC installation teams on new home construction sites, ensuring adherence to project specifications and safety protocols.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design plans to execute installations accurately.
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems including forced air furnace & air conditioning units, ductless systems, and heat pumps.
- Perform plumbing work related to HVAC systems and ensure proper integration with property infrastructure.
- Conduct equipment repair and maintenance using tools such as ohmmeters and welding equipment.
- Oversee the setup and calibration of HVAC/R systems, ensuring optimal performance.
- Manage field service tasks including system upgrades.
- Ensure all work complies with local codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and clients to meet project timelines and quality expectations.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, parts used, and system specifications.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction, service technician roles, or HVAC installation within new home builds.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems including air conditioning, boilers, and plumbing integration.
- Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design plans accurately.
- Mechanical knowledge with experience in equipment repair, welding, boiler operation, and property maintenance.
- Familiarity with field service procedures for appliance repair and maintenance tasks.
- Experience working with various tools such as ohmmeters; knowledge of equipment repair techniques is essential.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
- Additional skills such as welding, boiler operation, mechanic experience, or specialized refrigeration experience are a plus.
