To perform, under the responsibility and supervision of the physician, diagnostic, and therapeutic tasks to allow the physician to extend his/her services. Assists and performs surgical procedures, participates in providing postoperative care and follow-up, and performs other medical/surgical services on patient divisions or in the emergency department as may be requested. The scope of activities performed by the certified physician assistant should fall within the area of competence of his/her supervising physician. The physician assistant shall not perform any services which his/her supervising physician is not qualified to perform. These activities shall in all instances be within the rules and regulations of the board of medicine and shall be in accordance with Wheeling Hospital’s policy and procedures.
