Job Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Service Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, providing exceptional service while effectively communicating their automotive needs to our service technicians. This role requires a strong understanding of automotive repair processes and excellent interpersonal skills to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers promptly and professionally, addressing their inquiries regarding vehicle maintenance and repair needs.
- Accurately document customer information, vehicle details, and service requests.
- Communicate effectively with service technicians to relay customer concerns and ensure accurate diagnostics and repairs.
- Provide detailed explanations of services offered, including brake repair, shocks and struts replacement, alignment, and other automotive diagnostics.
- Prepare estimates for repairs and maintenance services while ensuring transparency in pricing.
- Follow up with customers regarding the status of their vehicles and any additional services needed.
- Maintain organized records of customer interactions, service orders, and invoices.
- Ensure a clean and welcoming environment for customers in the service area.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Service Writer or in a similar role within an automotive dealership is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with an understanding of automotive repair processes including brake repair, vehicle maintenance, alignment, shocks, struts, and diagnostics.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly to customers.
- Ability to work collaboratively with service technicians and other team members.
- Proficiency in using computer systems for documentation and scheduling is a plus.
