Job Summary:
This is a full-time position for an experienced Survey Party Chief. The Survey Party Chief should be capable of running a 1-man, 2-man or 3-man crew, including conducting boundary surveys, ALTA surveys, topographic surveys and construction staking. The role requires competency operating survey equipment such as Trimble GPS, total stations and digital levels. Applicants must have excellent field notes keeping skills and organizational skills. Applicants must also have good people skills when dealing with on-site construction managers and job site superintendents. You will also coordinate directly with Geomatics management and engineering project managers and ensure survey accuracy and regulatory compliance. For this specific role we are looking for someone with extensive subdivision construction staking experience.
Core Responsibilities:
- Experience in Construction Staking, Boundary Surveys, ALTA Surveyors, Topographic Surveys, and Settlement Monitoring.
- Proficiency in operating Trimble Survey Controllers.
- Skilled in operating Trimble GPS equipment conducting static sessions and base network calibrations.
- Skilled in operating Trimble Total Station including IS Solution and grid scanning.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in survey measurements.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and communicate effectively with project managers.
- Experience with modern survey software and fundamental analog tools is a plus.
- Relevant certifications in land surveying are beneficial.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- High school diploma or GED required, associate degree or bachelor's degree preferred. Commensurate relevant experience considered.
- Three or more (3+) years of experience working a land surveying party chief.
- Extensive subdivision construction staking experience
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of construction stakeout procedures and practices.
- Familiar with field procedures for performing boundary and ALTA/NSPS land title surveys.
- Ability to perform all aspects of data collected field fun topographic surveys, road frontage cross-section surveys and as-built surveys.
- Through knowledge of total station, GPS and data collection, with the ability to adapt to new equipment and technologies.
- Must possess a valid CA driver license and a clean driving record
