This position provides direct instruction to a multi-grade class of up to 12 students at CPI’s Non-Public School in Santa Rosa, using a relational, trauma-informed approach to implement curriculum according to the learning styles of each individual student.
SCHEDULE: 205 work days per calendar year including professional development, Regular School Year (RSY), and Extended School Year (ESY). Follows the Santa Rosa City Schools Academic Calendar.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Broad background, extensive knowledge and practical application of principles, practices, methods and strategies applicable to students with emotional disabilities, history of trauma, and/or mild to moderate disabilities.

Demonstrates ability to organize, prioritize, and deliver a variety of instructional strategies.

Expresses ideas and concepts clearly and concisely in both oral and written form.

Demonstrates ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with school districts, students, teachers, staff, and parents.

Knowledge of interagency relationships and effective methods of program coordination.

Knowledge of laws, codes, and regulations as they relate to special education and the IEP process.

Personal qualities of leadership, integrity, fairness, optimism, self-confidence, and persistence.

Bilingual in Spanish is preferred, but not mandatory
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION:
Mild to Moderate Special Education Credential, OR: a Bachelor’s Degree in an area that qualifies for a Provisional Intern or Short-Term Intern Permit. CPI offers partial tuition reimbursement for Intern Credential programs.
