Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Forklift Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on a variety of forklifts and material handling equipment. This position requires mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and a strong understanding of hydraulic, electrical, and fuel systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair forklifts (electric, propane, diesel, etc.) and other warehouse equipment
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety regulations and company standards
- Order and replace parts as necessary
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and operations staff
- Maintain our fleet of 10+ lifts within OSHA compliance.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- 5+ years of experience as a forklift or heavy equipment mechanic
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulics, and internal combustion engines
- Ability to read and interpret service manuals and schematics
- Own basic tools
- Valid driver’s license (CDL is a plus)
- Certification in forklift maintenance is preferred (but not required)
