Salary: $3,000 maximum; based on enrollment in Ceramics course.
Position Summary: Graceland University is looking for an adjunct professor to teach a section of Ceramics in the Fall of 2026.
Required Qualifications:
- MFA in Ceramics or Sculpture (with demonstrated expertise in Ceramics).
- Experience working within a college curriculum, showing an ability to follow syllabus guidelines and level appropriate assignments for the program.
- Knowledge and experience working with gas and electric kilns in a context of a ceramic studio.
- Experience teaching ceramics to undergraduate ceramics students, including:
- Teaching/ demonstrating wheel throwing and handbuilding to freshman/ sophomore level college students.
Knowledge of and having experience teaching a variety of surface applications, such as greenware and glazing techniques.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with art- and non-art majors in the context of a university.
- Ability to work in a collaborative studio environment.
