Position Summary
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily production activities within contract packaging, hand assembly, hard and soft surface samples, kitting, rework, labeling, display assembly and fulfillment operations. This position leads production teams to ensure customer orders are completed safely, accurately, efficiently, and on schedule. The Production Supervisor provides hands-on leadership, manages workforce productivity, maintains quality standards, and supports continuous improvement initiatives across the operation.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Leadership
- Supervise daily production activities to ensure work is completed according to customer specifications and production schedules.
- Assign labor and resources based on production requirements and priorities.
- Monitor workflow and address production bottlenecks to maintain efficiency.
- Coordinate with warehouse, inventory, quality, and shipping departments to support order fulfillment.
- Ensure accurate completion of production documentation and reporting.
- Lead shift start-up meetings and provide clear communication of daily goals and objectives.
Employee Supervision & Development
- Directly supervise production operators, assemblers, packers, and temporary staff.
- Train employees on work instructions, quality standards, safety procedures, and customer requirements.
- Monitor employee performance and provide coaching and corrective action when necessary.
- Conduct performance reviews and support employee development initiatives.
- Foster a positive, high-performance work environment focused on teamwork and accountability.
- Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and training new team members.
Quality Control
- Ensure all packaging, assembly, and fulfillment activities meet customer specifications and company quality standards.
- Perform line audits and quality checks throughout the production process.
- Identify quality issues and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain production records and quality documentation.
- Work closely with Quality Assurance personnel during inspections and customer audits.
Production Scheduling & Efficiency
- Execute production schedules established by management.
- Monitor labor efficiency and productivity metrics.
- Ensure proper staffing levels to meet production demands.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce waste, and increase throughput.
- Support Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Inventory & Materials Management
- Verify materials and components are available before production starts.
- Monitor material usage and report shortages, discrepancies, or damaged materials.
- Ensure accurate inventory transactions and material tracking.
- Protect customer-owned inventory and maintain inventory accuracy.
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
- Conduct regular safety observations and toolbox talks.
- Investigate incidents and near misses and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Ensure compliance with GMPs, customer requirements, and company procedures.
Qualifications Education
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree or technical certification preferred.
Experience
- 3+ years of supervisory experience in contract packaging, fulfillment, warehousing, manufacturing, or assembly operations.
- Experience leading teams in a labor-intensive production environment preferred.
- Experience managing temporary workforce staffing is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with production scheduling and inventory management systems.

Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing and walking throughout production and warehouse areas.

Pay: $42,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
