Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of sandwiches, salads, and hot dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications
- Ensure all food handling procedures adhere to strict food safety and sanitizing protocols to maintain cleanliness and prevent cross-contamination
- Operate kitchen equipment such as grills, fryers, poachers, braising pots, and knives with skill and safety awareness
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting new sandwich ideas or modifications based on customer preferences and seasonal ingredients
- Maintain high-volume production standards during peak hours while ensuring quality control and timely service
- Support food production by portioning ingredients accurately, cooking items to proper temperatures, and garnishing plates attractively
- Follow all food safety management practices, including proper storage, labeling, and sanitation procedures to uphold health regulations
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is highly preferred
- Culinary experience with skills in grilling, braising, poaching, and other cooking techniques is advantageous
- Familiarity with dietary department standards or dietary aide experience is a plus for accommodating special dietary needs
- Demonstrated knife skills and proficiency in food preparation methods such as food handling and meal assembly
- Experience working in high-volume kitchens or catering environments will help you excel in this role
- Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and food safety management practices is essential for maintaining hygiene standards
