Title Project Manager Power Generation
Location Richmond or Chesterfield VA
Pay 63- 65 per hour
Part time 3 days as week 30 hours
The Construction Manager position is responsible for leading and managing the execution of assigned projects in the field. This role provides construction oversight, ensures project quality, and supports safe, efficient project delivery while meeting schedule, budget, and compliance requirements.
The ideal candidate will have experience supporting major power generation facilities and equipment, including turbines, generators, pumps, motors, control systems, electrical/instrumentation systems, operations, and other balance-of-plant systems.
Candidates must be highly motivated, able to work independently with minimal supervision, and possess strong communication and problem-solving skills. The role requires the ability to work in field environments, including confined spaces, climbing stairs and ladders, and wearing required personal protective equipment such as respirators.
- Lead and manage field execution of assigned construction projects with safety and environmental compliance as the highest priority.
- Maintain awareness of project status, activities, schedules, and work windows while resolving conflicts as they arise.
- Maintain a consistent physical presence at job sites to oversee project activities.
- Perform site construction oversight inspections to monitor field quality, workmanship, and materials provided by vendors and subcontractors.
- Inspect construction activities to ensure compliance with contract specifications, regulatory requirements, codes, and company standards.
- Verify materials, products, and services align with purchase order requirements and meet performance expectations.
- Coordinate with project teams, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
- Identify issues, provide solutions, and communicate project updates effectively.
- Working knowledge of power generation facilities and pollution control equipment.
- General knowledge of construction practices, field operations, equipment utilization, and work scheduling.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and schedule work to meet construction deadlines.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with management, contractors, and team members while making sound decisions.
- Strong problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret construction specifications, drawings, technical manuals, and instructions.
- Ability to prepare clear and concise written reports and documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with OSHA scaffolding requirements and industry safety practices.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- 7+ years of industry experience in construction, engineering, and/or project management.
- Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated construction management experience.
- Experience supporting power generation projects strongly preferred.
- High School Diploma required.
