Drill-Tech is seeking an HDD Foreman to lead horizontal directional drilling crews on an underground utility project in Richmond, Virginia.
Headquartered in Chester, Maryland, Drill-Tech supports HDD and underground utility projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing daily field operations, coordinating crews, operating equipment as needed, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

Lead and supervise HDD field crews on active projects

Coordinate daily work assignments and crew activities

Operate HDD equipment as needed and assist with drilling operations

Oversee drilling, reaming, pullback, and pipe installation

Coordinate with locators, operators, laborers, and project leadership

Ensure equipment inspections and preventative maintenance are completed

Monitor productivity, quality, and jobsite safety

Identify and resolve field issues while maintaining project schedules

Train and mentor crew members

Maintain communication with project management and company leadership

5+ years of HDD, underground utility, or heavy civil construction experience
-
Previous experience leading HDD crews or serving as a Crew Lead or Foreman

Strong understanding of HDD equipment, drilling operations, and underground utility construction

Experience operating Vermeer 23x30, 24x40, or similar HDD equipment

Ability to read plans and coordinate daily field operations

Valid driver's license

Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Class A CDL

OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification

Experience operating Vermeer 100-series drills, 300,000 lb, or 500,000 lb maxi rigs

Experience with DigiTrak or ParaTrack locating systems

Experience with McElroy fusion equipment

Experience with mud systems, pumps, recyclers, and drilling fluid management
