American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2-3 years of experience for a night shift position at a Level 2 Trauma, teaching hospital in Rome, GA.
-
Work in the Respiratory Care department of a 361-bed Level 2 Trauma teaching hospital with a residency program, Chest Pain Center, and Stroke Center
-
Provide respiratory care to patients throughout the facility, including the ED, Medical-Surgical floors, and Critical Care areas
-
ED patient population includes chest pain/cardiac events, stroke, trauma (GSW, stabbings, MVC, falls), respiratory illnesses, seizures, ETOH/CIWA, and mental health cases
-
Med-Surg floors include oncology, orthopedics, general surgery/trauma, pulmonology (COPD, acute respiratory failure, pneumonia, sepsis), vascular, and bariatric surgery units

Critical Care areas include a combined 26-bed ICU (Medical, Surgical, Neuro, Cardiac), Neurology Stepdown, Cardiac Stepdown, and an Observation/Decision Unit

EMR: Epic

Equipment includes Getinge Servo U, Servo Air, and ABL90 (point-of-care testing)

12-hour night shifts, 7pm–7am, 36 hours per week

Every other weekend rotation
-
Holiday coverage required (70% of holidays)

Floating coverage within the facility, excluding the NICU
-
No on-call requirements
-
RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) national certification required
-
Active state license required if applicable
-
Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
-
Minimum 2-3 years of respiratory therapy experience
-
Minimum 12 months of core experience in respiratory care, with most recent experience within the last year
-
Proficiency in mechanical ventilator management and therapist-driven protocols required; intubation experience preferred
-
Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration

Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
-
