Server — Lux Asian Restaurant & Bar
Location: 3150 Grand Prairie Parkway. #150. Waukee, IA 50263
Pay: $4.50/hr + tips
Employment: Full-time (32+ hours per week) Lunch & Dinner service.
Responsibilities
- Greet, guide, and serve guests warmly and efficiently from seating through departure
- Learn the full food and beverage menu, including ingredients, allergens, preparation, and pronunciation
- Make confident recommendations and answer guest questions about Asian ingredients and flavors
- Enter orders accurately in the POS; communicate modifications and allergies clearly to the kitchen and bar
- Run food, pre-bus, refill drinks, and maintain table presence without hovering
- Handle payments, split checks, and checkouts accurately
- Reset tables quickly between turns
- Complete opening, running, and closing sidework
- Resolve guest issues calmly; escalate to a manager when appropriate
- Support your teammates. This is a team service floor, not a section-only job
Requirements
- 1+ years of serving experience in a full-service restaurant
- Comfortable memorizing a detailed menu and speaking about it
- Strong communication and a genuine hospitality instinct
- Can stand, walk, and carry trays for 8+ hour shifts
- Available days, nights, weekends, and holidays
- 18+ to serve alcohol in Iowa
Nice-to-Haves
- Familiarity with Asian cuisines (Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, etc.)
- Experience in a craft cocktail, wine-forward, or chef-driven concept
- Working knowledge of sake, shochu, soju, or Asian beer
- Opening-team experience
- POS fluency (Union, Toast, Square, Aloha)
