American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a high-acuity, Stroke and STEMI Certified facility, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ED experience and active GA or Compact RN license.

Large, high-acuity general Emergency Department (non-trauma) with Stroke and STEMI certification
-
59-bed ED averaging 165–175 patients per day
-
Patient population ranges from adolescents to geriatrics
-
Patient ratio of 1:4
-
Uses Epic (required) and Pyxis
-
Day shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:00)
-
Every other weekend required
-
Floating is rare but may occur within the facility and scope of practice as needed
-
No on-call requirements specified

Active GA or Compact RN license required
-
Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and PALS
-
Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required

Epic EMR experience required

Certification copies required for consideration

Two supervisory references (Manager level or above; charge nurses not accepted) are highly preferred
-
First-time travelers are not accepted for this position

Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for a minimum of 1 full year before returning as a traveler

RTO maximum is 7 days per contract; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment

RTO blackout dates apply: Spring Break (April 4–12)

Holiday coverage policy: if 1 or 2 major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO allowed; if 3 major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler must be available for 2, with 1 holiday RTO request eligible for review

Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day

No alternate shifts or special scheduling requests are permitted; the posted shift is firm
