MRI Technologist
Location: New York, NY
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Days (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM)
Schedule: 2–3 Days per Week (24 Hours) | Flexible Schedule | Occasional Weekend Coverage May Be Required
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program (JCERT/AMA approved).
- Active New York State License in Diagnostic Radiology (L.R.T.).
- Current ARRT certification with MRI Registry [ARRT (MR)].
- Current BLS certification.
- IV Certification required.
- Experience operating GE MRI scanners.
- Strong knowledge of MRI physics, cross-sectional anatomy, patient positioning, and MRI safety practices.
- Excellent communication, technical, and patient care skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two (2) or more years of MRI experience.
- Previous travel healthcare experience.
- Experience with PACS and Radiology Information Systems (RIS/IDX).
- Flexibility to provide coverage for scheduled vacations and occasional weekend shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality MRI examinations while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and adherence to established imaging protocols.
- Position patients appropriately, screen for MRI safety, and evaluate images for diagnostic quality before transmitting to PACS.
- Educate patients on MRI procedures and maintain accurate documentation within the radiology information system.
- Operate and maintain MRI equipment while following MRI safety, infection control, and departmental quality standards.
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and healthcare teams to provide efficient, patient-centered imaging services.
Pay: $70.00 - $75.00 per hour
Experience:
- MRI Tech: 2 years (Preferred)
- GE MRI scanners: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- RT License of NY State (Preferred)
- ARRT (MR) Certification (Preferred)
- BLS Certification (Preferred)
- IV Certification (Preferred)
