We are looking for a Presser to join our team. The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for operating industrial laundry equipment. We are hiring a person with dry-cleaning experience to press dry clean shirts, dresses, blouses, wedding gowns and other garments. The individual we hire will value teamwork and have the ability to work independently. A successful candidate will be a detail-oriented self-starter capable of completing tasks quickly. Other general drycleaning duties such as drycleaning and spotting are welcome. Pay will be according to experience. Must be able to work in the US. Will train if someone is willing to learn the business.
Responsibilities:
- Use a hand ironing board to press and remove wrinkles from garments.
- Be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Know how to steam garments.
- Know how to identify fabrics and materials and which setting is best for each one; know the difference between fabrics that are stretchable and which cannot be steamed.
- Know the difference between fabrics that are made with cotton, wool, and synthetic material, and which setting is best for each one (i.e., cotton should be set to the highest heat).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week
