Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver and take the wheel of a versatile fleet designed for efficiency and safety. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering freight across various routes, ensuring timely and secure transportation of goods. Your expertise in operating different types of trucks, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks, will be essential to our success. Responsibilities
- Safely operate a variety of commercial trucks including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks to transport freight across designated routes.
- Load and unload cargo efficiently using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Manage route driving responsibilities with a focus on punctuality and adherence to traffic laws.
- Secure loads properly to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules, route changes, or any issues encountered on the road.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and vehicle maintenance reports in compliance with regulatory standards.
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial driver with a valid CDL A license.
- Demonstrated ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently.
- Prior experience driving refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, or roll-off trucks is highly desirable.
- Delivery driver experience involving freight handling and load & unload procedures.
- Familiarity with route driving strategies to optimize delivery times while ensuring safety.
- Knowledge of truck driving safety protocols and DOT regulations.
- Ability to operate auxiliary equipment such as forklifts when necessary for loading or unloading cargo.
