FULL-CHARGE BOOKKEEPER – LAW FIRM
Busy, established law firm seeking an experienced Full-Charge Bookkeeper to take responsibility for all aspects of the firm’s day-to-day bookkeeping, accounting, payroll, billing, and financial administration.
We are looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who can work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain accurate and timely financial records in a law firm environment.
Responsibilities Include:
- Handle all aspects of day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting for the law firm
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Prepare and issue checks, including maintaining proper documentation and records
- Perform monthly bank and account reconciliations
- Process and manage payroll, including payroll-related reporting and tax requirements
- Prepare quarterly financial and payroll reports
- Prepare and process monthly client billing and invoices
- Maintain accurate records of client accounts and billing
- Utilize Timeslips for timekeeping, billing, and related accounting functions
- Work closely with attorneys and staff to ensure accurate time entries, billing, collections, and account information
- Handle new employee onboarding, including payroll and benefits-related paperwork
- Administer and maintain records relating to medical/health insurance benefits
- Assist with administration and recordkeeping for the firm’s 401(k) plan, and profit sharing plan
- Coordinate with outside accountants, payroll providers, insurance/benefit providers, and other vendors as needed
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties as needed
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of full-charge bookkeeping/accounting experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, and billing
- Experience with Timeslips is preferred
- Experience with law firm billing and client accounting is desirable
- Familiarity with employee benefits, including health/medical insurance and 401(k) administration
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with sensitive financial, employee, and client information
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on, experienced bookkeeper who is comfortable taking ownership of the firm’s financial and administrative accounting functions from beginning to end. This person should be dependable, highly organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a professional legal environment where accuracy and confidentiality are essential.
Law firm bookkeeping and Timeslips experience are a strong plus.
Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
