Schedule: 4-day/3-day rotating schedule, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday are set days)
Position Summary: The Coating Line Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining the coating line to produce high-quality adhesive-backed products. This role ensures production runs smoothly and efficiently while meeting all safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and prepare the coating line for production runs.
- Mix adhesive batches according to company policies and procedures.
- Operate coating equipment to manufacture work-in-progress (WIP) material from raw materials.
- Load and unload materials from the coating equipment:
- Test dyne level/side prior to loading raw materials.
- Load raw materials in the correct orientation.
- Unload and load materials safely, following company policies and procedures.
- Set up sizes and materials in accordance with the assigned production schedule.
- Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts, in compliance with company regulations.
- Monitor and adjust machine settings during operation to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Mix adhesive batches per company policy and procedure.
- Monitor production progress and ensure timely, accurate completion of production reports.
- Troubleshoot issues and make necessary adjustments to minimize downtime.
- Clean and maintain coating line equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Issue and receive inventory efficiently and accurately.
- Create roll tickets for each WIP roll produced.
- Ensure all quality procedures are followed to produce acceptable product.
- Clean the department daily to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
- Follow all company safety procedures and participate in safety initiatives.
- Operates forklifts and other material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
Qualifications:
- Prior manufacturing experience required; coating line experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret production specifications and measurements.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong math skills are a plus
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements:
- Must be able to stand for 12-hour shifts.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 80 lbs.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment around heat and chemicals.
