Position Overview
The Assistant Principal is responsible for the development, coordination and implementation of student centered programming that supports the academic, spiritual and social growth of students at the NativityMiguel School of Scranton. This leadership role ensures the effective operation of enrichment programs, outside partnerships and student support services while fostering a vibrant, mission aligned school culture. The Assistant Principal works dynamically to maintain daily school operations and directly supports the student body both inside and outside the classroom.

Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership or a
related field preferred.
● Demonstrated experience in program coordination, school administration or youth
development.
● Strong organizational, communication and leadership skills.
● Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, volunteers and community partners.
● Commitment to Catholic education, faith based mission and institutional values.
Key Responsibilities
Program, Enrichment & Partnership Leadership
● Develop and manage strategic partnerships with outside organizations that provide
programming, services and resource based initiatives.
● Coordinate scheduling, logistical preparation and hosting of partner led activities and
auxiliary services.
● Plan, coordinate and implement comprehensive student enrichment opportunities including guest speakers, special learning experiences, assemblies, monthly awards ceremonies, Spirit Week and other special events.
Volunteer Coordination & After School Program Support
● Coordinate the recruitment, onboarding and scheduling of volunteers who support the After School Program.
● Collaborate closely with the Director of the After School Program to support daily operational implementation and student safety.
Program Staff Coordination & Oversight
● Coordinate and support part time program staff including the art teacher, physical education teacher, school nurse, dining services staff and health teacher.
● Manage daily scheduling, communication and program implementation to ensure smooth operations across departments.
● Provide guidance, support and professional resources to program staff to ensure programs effectively meet student needs and enhance the overall school experience.
● Provide classroom coverage for program staff in cases of absence to ensure absolute
continuity of supervision, instruction and student support.
Classroom and Operational Support
● Provide active supervision of Study Halls while dynamically supporting students with their academic needs.
● Assist with general classroom support, teacher substitutions and instructional supervision as needed.
● Monitor students during recess and lunch periods to maintain a safe, respectful environment.
● Support daily student arrival and dismissal procedures to ensure safe, orderly transitions.
