POSITION SUMMARY:
Concierge is responsible for creating a welcoming and professional first impression for members and guests by managing the dining room seating process, coordinating reservations, and supporting efficient lounge operations. This position plays a key role in delivering an exceptional member experience through attentive service, effective communication, and teamwork.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: (Key Tasks and Responsibilities)
- Arrive as scheduled, maintain a professional appearance, and adhere to established uniform, grooming, and hygiene standards.
- Obtain daily staffing and station assignments from the Manager on Duty and maintain accurate seating and station charts.
- Complete all opening, side work, and closing duties in a timely and efficient manner.
- Assist management with reservation planning and the assignment of tables, stations, and service staff.
- Answer telephone calls promptly and professionally; accurately record, confirm, and manage reservations.
- Immediately recognized and greet members and guests warmly upon arrival, collecting and confirming names and information to provide relevant information to servers
- Assist with directing members and guests to appropriate waiting areas when necessary.
- Escort members and guests to assign tables and provide menus.
- Manage dining room flow by following reservation schedules, practicing equitable seating rotation, and monitoring table availability.
- Accurately communicate wait times and maintain waitlists; notify management when actual wait times exceed estimates.
- Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and professional appearance of the concierge stand, lobby, and reception areas and any other areas necessary to meet operational and member service needs
- Collaborate with team members to support efficient operations and enhance the overall dining experience.
- Communicate member concerns, service issues, or feedback promptly to management.
- Maintain a high degree of clean, safe, and organized work area
- Complete opening, ongoing, and closing side work, including cleaning, product storage, restock of product
- Following all safety policies, food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures, and promptly report hazards, equipment conditions, accidents, incidents, or injuries to management immediately.
- Practices teamwork by assisting fellow employees to enhance members’ dining experience
- Acknowledge departing members and guests and encourage future visits.
- Maintain knowledge of and comply with all company policies, procedures, service standards, training requirements, and sanitation.
- Perform additional functions and duties assigned to meet operational and member service needs
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- At least 2 years of experience in an upscale, high-volume restaurant, hospitality, or food service environment
- Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and other business-required shifts.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain a professional and courteous demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively with members, guests, managers, and coworkers.
- Ability to use telephones, point-of-sale systems, and other office or restaurant equipment requiring repetitive hand and finger movements.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Current California Food Handler Card, ServSafe certification, or equivalent food safety certification as required by law
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- This position works in a restaurant and event environment and requires standing and walking for extended periods, frequent bending and reaching, and regularly carrying or moving equipment and service items up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
