Position Summary
In this full-time role, the Education Specialist collaborates with the Education Program Manager, the Education Program team, and other Caritas of Austin programs to deliver educational services to clients. Clients served have experienced chronic homelessness and include a diverse population such as refugees, immigrants, and veterans. The role involves planning and facilitating both group and individual educational sessions aligned with clients’ education and employment goals, as well as building strong working relationships with case managers, peer support specialists, wraparound service providers, and external partners. This position requires strong communication, organization, prioritization, and attention to detail.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities (inclusive but not exhaustive):
Education Services
- Plan and deliver instructional sessions aligned with curriculum standards
- Revise, update, and develop instructional and curricular materials as assigned
- Use varied teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs, including in-person, virtual, and hybrid
- Differentiate instruction for varying abilities and backgrounds, including individualized learning plans
- Create safe, inclusive learning environments
- Foster respect, collaboration, and positive relationships with clients, colleagues, and external partners
Administrative and Organizational Duties
- Maintain timely, consistent, professional, and responsive communication with clients, colleagues, and external partners
- Enter and maintain timely, accurate, detailed data
- Follow all deadlines, policies, procedures, and legal requirements to maintain confidentiality and data accuracy and integrity
Other Duties
- Engage with community partners and participate in community meetings as assigned to advocate for Caritas clients and to represent Caritas.
- Represent Caritas of Austin in a professional, respectful manner in the community.
Qualifications:
Education
- Required – Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Preferred – Major in education, human services, social work, psychology, or other related area.
Experience
- Required – At least 1 year of experience in adult education, training, or administration serving diverse populations.
Technology Skills:
- Required: Proficient and knowledgeable with Microsoft 365 (including Teams), Google Suite, Zoom, and Google Meet.
- Required: Proficient with standard office equipment (computer, monitors, printers, copier, fax, scanner)
- Preferred: Familiarity with Canvas (Instructure), Blackboard, Canva, and HMIS-Clarity, Apricot
Language Skills
- Required: Must be bilingual. Professional proficiency in Spanish (preferred), Dari, Pashto, Ukrainian
Other Requirement(s)
- Must have valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
- Must have the ability to work collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability and flexibility to organize working hours and work remotely and with little supervision.
Salary/Benefits:
- Base Salary Range: $46,491 - $52,885, with final offer based on education and experience

Time Off: 20 days of PTO in year one (increasing with tenure) and 14 paid holidays.
