Since 1999, CCI has provided surveying, drafting, pipeline integrity, damage prevention, cathodic protection, inspection, and field operations support throughout the San Juan Basin and surrounding regions.
We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry Level Drafting Technician to support our growing Survey and Engineering Services Division.
Position Summary
The Drafting Technician will be responsible for preparing, updating, and maintaining technical drawings, maps, plats, and oil and gas facility documentation. This position works closely with survey crews, project managers, clients, and regulatory agencies to produce accurate and professional deliverables for pipeline, facility, right-of-way, and land development projects.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare and revise CAD drawings utilizing AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Carlson Survey, or similar drafting software.
- Develop:
- Pipeline Alignment Sheets
- As-Built Drawings
- Facility Site Plans
- Well Location Plats
- Right-of-Way Exhibits
- Survey Maps
- Legal Exhibits
- Construction Drawings
- Process and incorporate field survey data into final drawings.
- Create and maintain GIS mapping data and project databases.
- Assist with BLM, State, Tribal, and County permitting exhibits.
- Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project specifications.
- Coordinate with survey crews regarding field notes, GPS data, and project requirements.
- Prepare project deliverables for clients in the oil and gas industry.
- Maintain drawing archives and electronic project records.
- Support project managers with document preparation and project tracking.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, GIS, Surveying, or related field preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience with:
- AutoCAD
- ArcGIS
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Understanding of land surveying principles and mapping concepts.
- Ability to interpret legal descriptions, plats, and engineering drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Physical Requirements
- Primarily office-based position.
- Occasional travel to field locations within the San Juan Basin.
- Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer workstation.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds when necessary.
